MEMBERS of Tavistock Youth Café Plus donned their dancing shoes and celebrated the success of 2009 at their second year party held at the Red and Black Club.

This year has been very successful for the Tavistock Youth Café, with the Son-Rise Cup raising £3,500 in May, Mount House School raising £7,300 more recently and a donation of £1,300 from Heart Radio.

The money raised will help towards football expenses, trips, pantomime outings and a holiday with all the children.

Allen Lewis, secretary of Tavistock Youth Café Plus, said: 'The money raised is life-changing to the children. I am so thrilled by the constant support of the Tavistock community — we are lucky to stand together in this way.'

The Tavistock AFC Specials football team is in full swing and looking forward to tournaments run by Devon and Cornwall's Football Associations.

Chairperson Cathy Sharp expressed thanks to local businesses who continue to back the group.

The Son-Rise Cup will be held again in 2010 on May 8 and 9, with 50 teams taking part, along with a car boot sale and Heart Radio playing a part in the event.
