THANK you so much to the Times and to everyone who has supported and encouraged Derek through his long battle with the Foreign Office to bring his ?bride-to-be? from Rwanda.

Your story last week has provoked many a smile and romantic comment in the town. Tavistock seems to have taken them to its heart. Derek is now a happy man! Thank you sincerely to everyone.

The ordeal has cost over £2,000. If only we could have started with the appeal court! Now the young couple will be saving to provide for their wedding and home together.

Also, they will need to provide for education for Immaculee?s daughter Stella. (In Rwanda there are eight women to every man and with no pensions or insurance it is common for children to provide for their parents in old age.)

Immaculee will be a great asset to Great Lakes Africa Mission. As you read this I shall be in Uganda helping set up three small hospitals since the container has just been released from customs.

Our desperate need at the moment is for a warehouse to store and sort tons of medical supplies donated to GLAM. Anyone that can help will be our friend forever! (Tavistock 834465).

Thank you Tavistock. You?re the best little town in England!
