MID Devon Primary Care Trust are inviting the public to come along and hear about the good work the Trust carries out. The PCT is holding its annual meeting at Tiverton and District Hospital on Tuesday, September 26. The body manages Okehampton Community Hospital among other hospitals and provides healthcare for 104,000 people across its area. It has been a difficult year financially for many trusts but Nick Pearson, spokesman for Mid Devon, said he wanted the public to come along and hear about the PCT?s accomplishments. ?The meeting is a chance for people to learn more about their local NHS,? he said. ?It?s also a great opportunity to meet the people who work day-in, day-out to improve healthcare in the area.? Doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals have been invited to the event, which again this year is being held in the evening to appeal to a wider public audience. During the meeting members of the public can ask questions about any aspect of the local NHS. They will also hear about the pioneering work that has been going on in local hospitals. The event takes place between 7pm and 9pm.
