MORE than 150 children, teenagers and leaders enjoyed an action-packed and fun-filled week long holiday club at Tavistock Methodist Church (TMC) during the school summer holidays.
Following the theme of ‘The Power of the Parables of Jesus’ from the Bible, the five-day long holiday club included games, challenges, stories, team work, singing, craft, activities to suit all and lots of fun.
Each day the children learned a little more about God through the life and parables (stories) of Jesus. Themes of the week included seeing how God teaches right from wrong, loves unconditionally, gives people the choice whether to love him back and promises to be a friend and Saviour.
The S:CAPE Holiday Club for children, from reception to Year 6, is held during the school summer holidays each year. Run by the family work team at TMC, the holiday club is always the end of term finale after a term of many and varied clubs, activities, events and services.
Chris Harding, who helped to lead the week, said: ‘It was a really brilliant week.
‘To learn about God and see how the life and stories of Jesus are so relevant and life-changing for us today, whether we’re adults or children, is amazing. We’ve all had a fantastic time.’
