PUPILS from FOOTsteps School of Dance are celebrating the results of their recent dance examinations in Modern, Tap and Jazz set by the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance. Not only did they record a 100% success rate, they all managed to attain Grade B or better. Hazel Sturgess and Isobel Weaver from the Okehampton branch and Abigail Hibbs from the Princetown branch all received Grade A in Modern Theatre Dance. From the Tavistock branch, Lucy Bosworth and Philippa Knight were also awarded Grade A for their bronze jazz awards. School principal, Mandy Williams, said: ?I am absolutely delighted with the set of results, particularly as it was the school?s first. All the girls did brilliantly. Little Abbie Hibbs deserves a special mention. At only six years old, she took her Grade 1 Modern examination on her own and scored a top grade.? FOOTsteps School of Dance was formed in September 2004 starting with one branch, in Okehampton, on Tuesdays. It now provides dance classes in Modern Theatre, Jazz and Tap over four days ? two days in Okehampton plus one each in Tavistock and Princetown. Classes cover all ages with Pre-School Dance for three to five-year-olds through to adult classes in tap and modern. The school is now busy preparing for its Summer shows at the Octagon Theatre, Okehampton and at Mount House School, Tavistock with 150 pupils taking part in a costumed production based around a Toy Shop.
