Ivybridge U14s 34
Okehampton U14s 0
OKEHAMPTON?s trip to Ivybridge started badly, with two regular players missing. Okehampton made Ivybridge work hard for their points, with good tackling from the whole team and man of the match, Jake Chisholm, outstanding at wing forward.
Fly-half Tom Browne kicked well out of defence and moved the ball well. Outside centre Carl Goodall had two good runs late in the game which tested the Ivybridge defence.
Okehampton U13s 7
Ivybridge U13s 0
OKEHAMPTON continued their unbeaten run, in this very even encounter at the Old Showground. With the advantage of the slope in the first half, Ivybridge took the game to the home side, but were thwarted by some very determined Okehampton defence, particularly from Jack Fayre and Kevin Dennis. Although Okehampton dominated the line-out they were under considerable pressure in the scrums. Midway through the first half the Ivybridge scrum-half broke through to sprint clear from half-way only to be brought down short of the line by an excellent display of cover tackling by James Speak saving a certain try.
From a 5 metre scrum on the Ivybridge line, Heard charged down the clearing kick, Merrick Kirby pounced on the loose ball to dive over for the only try of the game, converted by Andy North.
For the rest of the game, despite some valiant efforts by Ivybridge they were unable to breach the home side defence before the final whistle.
This week away to Exeter Saracens.

A FULL team arrived at Ivybridge to be met with the news that not only were they to play against Ivybridge but also a visiting team from Newton Abbot ? a team they had never met before.
The first match was against Newton Abbot and Okehampton took up the challenge of the unexpected match.
However some good running by the Newton Abbot forwards gave them a small lead at half time. Having learned from the first half Okehampton held their own in the second half and managed to cross the line against strong opposition.
Okehampton then had time to rest, do some match training and watch the Ivybridge/Newton Abbot game before taking on Ivybridge.
The excellent performance of the Okehampton forwards Callum, Mat and James showed the Ivybridge scrum the power of Okehampton.
Fully backed up by the threequarters the game became a chance for all players to show their skills.
It was an evenly matched game with play flowing all over the pitch, any minor error being punished by the backs breaking away.
Final score Okehampton 20, Ivybridge 30.
