SOUTH West Lakes Trust and MED Theatre are looking for budding young film makers, aged eleven to 25 to be involved in an exciting new media project to create a film exploring the role Burrator played during the First World War.

The project has been commissioned by DAISI and funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund.

Young people will get the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of film making. This will include uncovering local stories about people and the surrounding area, creating a storyboard, writing the script, acting, directing, operating the camera, adjusting the sound and editing the final footage to create a short film to be launched this October. No previous experience is necessary.

Filming will take place during the May half term, the editing in the summer and then the film will be launched in October half term.

Burrator is already a popular filming location and you can see the reservoir in the official War Horse trailer. Burrator has also hosted productions such as 'The Wolfman' with Sir Anthony Hopkins and in August 2011 James May filmed part of his episode of Man Lab at the site.
