CUBS from Stoke Climsland and the Tamar Valley spent a night under canvas and walked six miles the following day to raise money for Water Aid.
The children walked the same distance an average child in Africa from the age of five walks to collect water each day before they go to school.
After a full English breakfast, they started their initial three mile hike, working in teams to encourage one another.
They completed a 12-lap circuit of the Stoke Climsland playing field carrying an empty bucket.
Once completed they spent some time designing a water collection system, coming up with some fantastic ideas, and then presented them to the group.
After a roast dinner lunch, they commenced the three mile hike back home, each team carrying five litres of water, a fraction of the water carried by their counterparts in Africa, who often carry 20 litres.
The money raised by the cubs will go to Water Aid's WASH appeal for water, sanitation and hygiene.
The charity's vision is of a world where everyone has access to safe water and sanitation. Around 700,000 children die every year from diarrhoea caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation, that's almost 2,000 children a day.
All the cubs completed the challenge that had been set before them with many of them experiencing their first night under canvas and or event as cubs.
Their efforts and that of the leaders who gave up their weekend have been praised.
