YOUNG athletes experience various athletics events with coaches from SW Athletics Academy.

Athletes aged 8-14 attended an athletics 'come and try' morning on Monday at Tavistock College. They also met Tasha Mead from Plymouth who has recently returned from representing GB in a disability international at Colorado in the United States of America.

A range of activities including shot, high jump, long jump and sprints were tried with the aim to develop skills and link to the local athletics club Tavistock AC. With the support from the SW Athletics Academy, Tavistock College and UKA the event was free for all those that attended.

Other activities will be planned for the future — please see its website http://www.sw-athletics-academy.co.uk">www.sw-athletics-academy.co.uk for more details.
