FOLLOWING the success of the recent Make Music with Wren workshops, the organisation is launching another series of music-making workshops for adults next week.

The weekly sessions in the Church Hall on Okehampton's Market Street start on Tuesday, June 19 at 10am until noon. They will be held every week until July 10.

The Make Music sessions have been specially designed to appeal to people of all abilities and all ages from 16 upwards.

It is hoped that the musical mornings will bring together people from all walks of life, cultures and backgrounds, such as young parents, part-time workers, people not currently working, disabled people, and the retired.

Wren Music will provide an array of instruments to try, including guitars, basses, fiddles, concertinas and drums.

No musical experience is necessary. Tunes will be learned by ear and no music reading skills will be needed, although written scores will be provided if desired.

The sessions will be led by professional musicians David Faulkner and Becki Driscoll, who have many years of experience leading such projects across Devon.

Thanks to support from the Okehampton United Charity and Devon County Council, and funding from the Big Lottery Fund, the sessions are free.
