THE crosscountry from local schools in East Cornwall last week was well attended with more than 160 runners. East Cornwall athlete Sharon Daw said: ?It was a great pleasure to organise an event for the up and coming runners of the future on our organic farm. The course was a demanding mile and the children chose to run one, two or three laps. ?As a pre x-country warm up it was good to see so many year one and two age groups as they have few opportunities to take part in cross-country events.? The first boy in years five and six was Alister Tamblyn from Burraton; the first girl in year five and six was Amy Benalick from St Mellion. The first boy overall for years three and four in three laps was Luke Valentine and the first girl was Xavia Flashman.
