MUMS planning Summer holiday activities should pencil the week from Monday August 27 to Saturday September 1 into their diaries now. Sticklepath Fireshow will be running their annual and highly popular summer workshops and show that week. There will be the chance for children and adults to try their hand at a wide range of art and craft activities including mask-making, the construction of giant puppets, and the creation of outrageous outfits. On the Saturday, the grand finale of the week will be a show, with the opportunity to model costumes on stage before an audience and panel of judges. For those who have not experienced the event before, it represents a fantastic opportunity to learn the craft skills which are used to make the props and costumes for the main Fireshow event in November. Families or individuals can join workshops for just a short time or for the whole week, and those experienced in costume design are welcome to enter the final show on the Saturday afternoon even if they have not been able to take part in the workshops. The costume categories for the Saturday show are still being decided upon, so anyone with original ideas for the competition classes is welcome to make suggestions now by calling Hilary or Dave on 01837 840334.
