FARMERS are being offered the chance to get their questions answered on the new Single Farm Payment and find out how it will affect them at a series of workshops being held throughout the Southwest.
The workshops ? part-funded by the Defra Vocational Training Scheme and being run by the West Devon based Agricultural Business Information Point (Agri-BIP) ? cut through the jargon to look at the payment and how it is calculated, the implementation timetable, set aside and cross compliance.
These introductory workshops can be followed by other sessions, designed to help farmers improve their business profitability and include such subjects as finance, business planning, marketing, environmental opportunities and diversification.
