DEVON County Council is to start highways work at the rear of St James' Chapel in Okehampton on May 2.

The Fore Street access to St James' Street will be closed from this date. Work at the rear of the building will precede the enhancement scheme around the chapel which is a joint project between the boroughand county councils. Highways maintenance engineer Nick Pogodin said work needed to be carried out to the road and the kerb and South West Water would also be working at the site for three days.
