A NEW £5.2-million primary school in Moretonhampstead will be officially opened tomorrow (Friday). The school has been built to serve the growing population and replaces the old Victorian primary which was on split sites. It means pupils will have all the facilities they need on one site for the first time. Moretonhampstead headteacher Nina Newington said: ?It has transformed the children?s learning experience in terms of the facilities we can provide for them. They?ve got so much more space in which to learn and play. They think it?s wonderful.? County councillor Sally Morgan said: ?I am delighted for the children of Moretonhampstead, and their teachers, who now have a first class building and learning environment. It is an exciting building and has been long awaited.? The chairman of Devon County Council, Brenda Taylor, will officially open the new school at 10am tomorrow.
