DESPITE the seasonal weather, a wonderful nativity was enjoyed by all at Northlew and Ashbury Parochial Primary School on Friday.
Teachers, parents and pupils battled through the snow to get to the church and were rewarded with an excellent rendition of the traditional Christmas story performed by children from reception class, as well as Years 1 and 2. Several children were off ill, and older pupils stepped in to replace them.
The congregation was later invited back to the school to listen to pupils playing the violin, piano and keyboard. Awards were presented, and mince-pies and tea enjoyed.
