THE art of flower arranging was more than ably displayed by NAFAS members to provide a swathe of colour and visual pleasure to the many who stepped inside the flower and garden marquee. Jill Wilson, the second vice chair of Devon and Cornwall National Association of Flower Arranging Societies (NAFAS), who is also a member of the Sampford Courtenay branch, told the Times: 'Our branch has 24 members and meets at 7.30pm every second Monday of the month at the Church Rooms in the village. We do workshops, demonstrations, shows like this, arrange flowers for church festivals and weddings or just for our own pleasure. 'In September, for example, we will be arranging flowers for the cancer charity ball at Make Well in Hatherleigh. Flower arranging can be great fun and we are a friendly bunch who help each other so if you would like to join us we are always looking for new members so either come to one of our meetings or give me a call on 01837 52035.'
