A WITNESS is being asked to come forward after an attack by two terrier dogs on a sheep in fields at Horrabridge on Sunday.
Livestock protection officer Karla McKecknie said the sheep was so severely mauled it had to be put down following the incident at Grimstone fields at around 10am.
'It was an horrific attack on this sheep which was cordoned off by the dogs from the rest of the flock and suffered very bad injuries to its face and back leg, the likes of which I have never seen before,' she said.
'We are aware that a walker witnessed the attack and pulled the dogs off the sheep. We would very much like that person to come forward.'
Karla can be contacted on 07873 587561 or call the police log 90 of 04/01/15.
