TIM van Eyken, this year's winner of the Radio 2 'Young Folk Award, will be appearing at the Wharf, Tavistock on October 6.
He started performing only shortly after the dance team for whom he played got him his first meldeon.
Within two years he was becoming nationally known as a folk performer and he toured extensively both at home and in Europe.
Tim's influences are varied from the sound of the English Cathedral Choir — Tim studied A levels at Wells Cathedral School — to the traditions on French-Canadian and European cultures.
The Wharf is delighted to welcome him on the threshold of such a great future.
