WEST Devon based Red Spider Company, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, is fully immersed in preparations for the forthcoming production of Kenneth Grahame's classic Wind in the Willows. In addition to the familiar characters of Toad, Badger, Ratty and Mole, the villain of the story is a new character called Fenella Ferret. Countess Fenella Ferret along with her sidekicks Mick, Harry and Winonna, attempt to steal Toad Hall and have Toad locked up in jail. However, the intrepid friends are able to win back Toad Hall and return Toad to his rightful home. With a wealth of woodland creatures played by primary schoolchildren, music and singing, comedy and drama, this production will appeal to children and adults alike. This stage version was adapted by Steve Eaton Evans with music by Tim Laycock. Tickets available from Mary Rolfe, telephone 01837 861510. The play will run from Thursday January 24 to January 26 at Lewdown Victory Hall, Lewdown, Devon. Curtain up at 7.30pm.
