Paul Fewings, for North Tawton, and Dave Prentice, kept the score level at half-time 3-3.
In the second half North Tawton?s forwards put pressure on the Dartmouth try-line backed up by Fred Bolt and Phil Arnold making forward runs, for scrum half Phil Wale. He passed the ball to second row Paul Ayris, zooming in on the wing to dive over.
The visitors then scored with a try to level the match again. But five minutes from the end Fewings sealed the match with a well-kicked penalty to leave skipper Neil Peters with a smile on his face.
