TAVISTOCK triathlete Pete Jarman took part in the Plymouth Junior open water aquathlon held at the Mount Batten Centre. The weather conditions on the day were wet and windy.
Pete, 14, competed in the Tri-Start 3 category. The event started with an open-water swim of 400 metres followed by a run to transition where the competitors took off their wetsuits and put on their running kit for the 3k run. Pete was in second place for most of the race. On the final lap of the run he took the lead and finished the race in first place with a time of 19 minutes.
The event was held at the same time as the senior event and was a great success despite the adverse weather conditions.
£496 was raised for the Dame Hannah Rogers Trust.
