AN EXHIBITION depicting rural life will be on display at the gallery of Okehampton?s Museum of Dartmoor Life for a fortnight from this weekend. The collection of original paintings and limited edition prints by Devon-based artist Maggie Miller are all on a rural theme. The exhibition includes a mix of portraiture of wildlife and stunning landscapes across Dartmoor as well as a painting of Okehampton Castle. Maggie has her own gallery at Bovey Tracey and has previously exhibited at Ilkley in Yorkshire, Rosemoor, the Northcott Theatre and Widecombe on the Moor among other places. Maggie has made a career out of painting since her early twenties, having been inspired by moving to Devon at the age of 18. ?I appreciate the natural unspoiled beauty of the Devon landscape and these works draw on the rural theme,? she said. The exhibition runs from Saturday March 26 until Saturday, April 9.
