AN appeal for information has come to Okehampton from an intrepid long-distance walker who trudged through the town for charity earlier this year.
Gerald Lewis-Azayear has contacted the mayor of Okehampton, Cllr Christine Marsh, in the hope she may know of two ladies who walked with him on their own journey between Bristol and Land's End.
Mr Lewis-Azayear said: 'They were walking for some cancer organisation.
'They finished the same day as me. As they have some video footage of me walking I would very much like to contact them.
'Unfortunately, I never got their address but they have mine.'
Anyone who knows the identity of these two ladies should contact Christine Marsh at the town hall — she will pass on the information to Mr Lewis-Azayear.
The walker passed through Okehampton at the end of September as he headed to Land's End from John O' Groats. Raising money for the Royal British Legion, Mencap and the Church Mission Society, Mr Lewis-Azayear was given a civic reception by the mayor.
