THE continuing arrogance of West Devon Borough Council with regard to Okehampton is breathtaking, but perhaps we should not be surprised; after all, local government follows the tone set at national level.
Who better than a resident of Station Road to count the number of bus journeys in that road, yet the comments by the council's deputy chief executive are insulting and patronising.
Are the social and environmental consequences of their scheme of as little importance to the council as the remark, 'WE (my capitals) think a scheme of this nature will be good for the commercial well-being of Okehampton', would seem to indicate?
