I ENJOYED John Hutchins’ article on Lopwell Dam in the Times edition of July 23.
The article says water from Roadford Lake is pumped into the River Tavy. Water from Roadford Reservoir, in fact, runs into the River Tamar; water is then abstracted at the Gunnislake Pumping Station, then pumped to the Crownhill Treatment Works for use in Plymouth.
The Gunnislake Pumping Station is by Gunnislake Westbridge on the Devon side.
Water from the River Tavy, of course, runs into Lopwell Dam and is pumped into the Crownhill Treatment Works.
