WHITCHURCH Pre-School organised a visit to Tavistock Fire Station as part of learning about the emergency services and 'People who help us'.

The children were shown how the fire engine worked and were given a guided tour of the station and a basic guide to the uniform and apparatus. A fun and educational morning was had by all.

One youngster who tried a firefighter's gear out for size was Joe Summers, pictured with his mother, Heather.

The visit was facilitated by Louisa Wall, community safety officer at West Devon Borough Council.
