THERE were spooky goings-on in Tavistock in the early hours of New Year's day as strange lights were seen across the sky.

Katerina Davis, who lives in the centre of Tavistock, said she saw eight aircraft-type objects move across the sky, coming from the direction of the moors: 'We saw a series of about eight aircraft of some sort, circular in shape with lights all around them, come towards us. They came in twos — well, first one, with one behind it, then there was a break for a minute or so, then another two came, then another four. It was really weird.'

Katerina is convinced they were not aeroplanes: 'We know what they look like at night, nor were they helicopters.

'I'm not suggesting these aircraft were UFOs, we don't believe in them, but we'd like to know what they were as we've never seen anything like it before.'
