THE Okehampton Round Table organised a successful five-legged race and we read in the Times that more than £1,200 was raised for Children in Need.
As the teams raced around the pubs in the town they passed by the Plume of Feathers in Fore Street. Sadly they could not enjoy a drink there because the pub has been closed for three years.
What used to be a thriving hub of the community has been abandoned; just like some of the children we aim to help.
We are now living in a waiting period during Advent. We can ponder on the coming of another 'child in need'.
Do readers have any ideas about what can be done to regenerate the Plume of Feathers so that there will be 'room at the inn' once more?
