SO the proposed railway which is now suggested for 2020 has increased in budget cost from £17 million to £26 million and counting. What an expensive white elephant this will be should it ever come to fruition.

In all the arguments put forward to justify it, I have not seen any figures as to how many people will use it, at what cost per trip, plus the ancillaries such as parking if indeed there will be any at Tavistock Station?

Anyone travelling to Derriford, Tesco, Home Park, the business centres north of the city  will not use it. Shoppers will have to carry their purchases from the city centre to the station for a return journey.

No timetables have been tabled as yet. I didn't realise the county was so flush with funds that we can afford such a luxury. We all know that county income comes from council taxes which will inevitably be raised to cover what can only be an ego trip for someone!
