Carlsberg South Western League Goonhavern 0 Tavistock 5 THE highlight of this game was a hat-trick from Tavistock?s Mark Conday to send the home side to their eighth consecutive defeat and see the Lambs creep further up the league table. Goonhavern were down to the bare eleven due to injuries, but kept the Lambs at bay in the first half with keeper Dave Wilton denying Glynn Hobbs in the opening minutes to smother a rasping shot. Hobbs then set up Conday but he shot across goal. The Lambs were having the better of the exchanges with Will Stringer, Sean Cann and new signing, from Liskeard, Gary Williams, all going close. Arquati headed wide and Jeff Dillon wasted a chance, shooting weakly at Tavistock keeper Andy Meeds before the Lambs went ahead a minute before half-time. Dave Hallett swept the ball forward for Hobbs to help it on. Wilton stretched high but failed to hold it and let it slip over him for Conday to head home. Tavistock stamped their authority on the game within the first three minutes of the second half with two goals to give the home side a mountain to climb. James Steer crossed but a back header fell to Williams out wide to send it back in for Conday to turn and fire home. Then Steer and Stringer combined to allow Hobbs to run at the defence. The ball ran loose for Stringer to shoot home. Both sides found themselves down to ten men on 54 minutes when Hobbs and Dave Rawlings were in a physical confrontation. The referee had no option but to show both players red cards. Williams hit the side netting before the Lambs got their fourth with 15 minutes remaining. A Scott Rogers mistake allowed Steer to pass inside for Stringer to splay it out wide for Conday to cut in and slot home for his third. The Lambs had the final say on the stroke of full time when Steer put Cann away for him to cut back to allow sub John Hajiyianni the simple task of tapping home for Tavistock?s fifth.
