I WOULD just like to applaud the letters of M D Perkin and Michael Taynton in this week's Times. With a bit of tweeking the Wetherspoons would be an asset to West Street — after all, the tattoo parlour didn't bring any bad elements, so why should a decent place where we can take our families for a good meal and drink, not necessarily alcohol. This has always been an industrial town, you don't get to be a stannary town for being twee. Come on councillors, get with the times. Gary Spicer Tavistock
