STUDENTS from Okehampton College recently took part in the making of a video for a charity pop single, being released to coincide with this summer?s World Cup. Back in December, around 400 students from the college performed a football chant which is being incorporated into the track. Two hundred schools from across the country were involved in the recording of the chant, but Okehampton College was part of an elite group of schools chosen to be included in the video. The school was selected on the grounds of its students? enthusiasm for the project. The making of the video took place on Friday, February 17. The track, titled We Are England, has been written and recorded by young pop band Ricky. The video will be broadcast in the summer on television channels such as MTV and The Box. The single is being released to raise funds for the NSPCC.
