KELLY College Swim Squad sent 30 swimmers to the Welsh National Pool in Swansea for the Swim Swansea open meet on October 15 and 16.

The successes included five Kelly College age group records broken, two national qualifying times achieved, 110 personal best times, 28 gold medals, 26 silver medals and 20 bronze medals.

Those breaking records were: Erin Walsh in the girls 15 years 100m backstroke in 1.10.08mins; Lucy Sanderson, girls 17 years 100m butterfly, 1.05.06; Thomas Brew, boys 10 years 400m individual medley, 6.25.67; Nathan Linden, boys 11 years 100m butterfly, 1.22.83; Benjamin Staig, boys 12 years 100m butterfly, 1.14.27.

Club secretary Jenny Henry said well done also to George Humphrey and Lucy Sanderson, are the first Kelly swimmers this season to achieve their national qualifying times for next year's National Youth Championships; to Chloe Barrow, who took 48.09 seconds off her personal best for the 400m individual medley and to Ben Staig with 10 medals from his 10 events - three gold, six silver and one bronze.
