THE children of Whitchurch Primary can now get 'stuck in' and take full advantage of the school's conservation area, after receiving a donation of Wellington boots from Pogo Shoes in Tavistock.
Year 1 teacher Imogen Syrett said: 'Our conservation area is a fabulous resource and we aim to get the children into the natural environment every week.
'However, as the Tiddy Brook runs through the site, it is always soggy and often waterlogged so if the children haven't got wellies they can't come down with us without ruining their shoes and having soggy feet all day.
'Now we have a stock of robust wellies, reception and year one children in particular will always be able to enjoy discovering their natural surroundings, without a lot of fuss and mess.'
Jo Dixon, owner of Pogo, said: 'Our daughter is in year one and I noticed a constant call for wellies at school, so as I run a children's shoe business, it made sense that we donate a stock to help the children.
'Ten pairs in a range of sizes should help enormously.'
