THE Welcome Club in Tavistock, which is run through ROC (Robert Owen Communities), held a sponsored walk at the Meadows in Tavistock last Thursday.

The Welcome Club, which is held at the Alexander Centre, raised money for their club in order to buy new games, craft material and hopefully put some towards a computer.

The group walked a short route from the bandstand in the Meadows to accommodate the older and less mobile members of the group and everyone was encouraged to complete as many laps of the route as they could.

Jane Annings, team leader, who organised the walk, said: 'I was really impressed by the number of laps that the group completed and they managed to raise over £100. I would like to thank the staff and volunteers who supported the walk and to everyone who took part.'
