TAVISTOCK College food technology teacher Sally Wetherbee and her husband Chris provided three long distance charity cyclists with an early breakfast at Brentor last Saturday. The cyclists had completed the first section of their Land's End to John O'Groats route in one day and after the breakfast continued through Okehampton to Taunton. Ian MacDonald, an engineer with Network Rail, is cycling in aid of Cancer Research and fulfilling a lifelong ambition after travelling the world. Graham Bell, head gardener at Bridgwater College Cannington Centre, is raising funds for the NSPCC and, completing the trio, Josh Wedderkopp, a supply teacher in Somerset, is cycling for the Mines Advisory Group And about to set off this Friday to cycle from Land's End to John O'Groats are Mary Tavy residents Dave Woodhouse and Dave Dobbie, who are doing the 900-plus mile trip in 14 days on bikes carrying their own camping equipment. The two Daves are raising money for Shelterbox, which provides essential equipment for victims of major disasters. So far they have raised more than £400.
