PRINCETOWN is the location of Dartmoor National Park Authority?s free events this weekend to celebrate National Archaeology Week. On Saturday the whole family can join an authority archaeologist to learn about the techniques involved in digging up the past. Children can find and identify items from archaeological site re-creations and work out the story of the site. There will also be a walk through time exploring living archaeology using folk tales, legends and folklore on the children?s surprise trail. On Sunday between 11am and 2pm, join guide Paul Rendell for a one and a half hour guided stroll around Princetown.The stroll explores the history behind the village, famous for its prison and includes a visit to St Michael?s Church, not often open to the public.
