I READ with interest the recent letters regarding speed limits on the Lydford-Fox and Hounds road.

We live on a narrow stretch of the old A30 with double white lines, no pavement, but have street lights. I try taking our young son out in his pram along with the dog for a short walk. With traffic, including articulated lorries, driving by at such high speeds, it can be frightening.

As the sunshine begins to appear so do the motorcyclists, who love to use this stretch as part of a racing circuit.

Riding my horse onto this road is a complete nightmare. We recently had a near miss with a white van whose driver seemed totally uninterested in driving slowly.

The rush of air from these vehicles whilst stood in our porch is unbelievable.

Think yourselves lucky to have a limit. My family for one would love to have one outside our house.
