FUTURE craft markets in Callington will give visitors the chance to get arty and try their hand at basket weaving and gift-box making ?giving them time to hone their new skills before Christmas.

Visitors who tested their artistic skills by painting a pot at last Friday?s craft market will be able to collect it at the market on August 27 where Carol Horsington will be on hand to demonstrate the ancient art of willow basket weaving.

The following market, on September 10, will welcome Michael Roast who produces unusual and attractive gift boxes for all occasions.

Browsers will have plenty of chance to watch the artists at work, buy wares and try the crafts themselves, although Carol and Michael certainly make them look easier than they really are.

Both markets will also see the usual array of fine gifts and artistic pieces made in the East Cornwall area, including woodturning, pottery, candles, jewellery, glassware, hand-made cards and hand-spun garments.

The markets will be held in Callington Town Hall between 9.30am and 12.30pm.
