CHILDREN's Hospice South West this week announced that this year 'Wear Your Wellies Day' will take place on April 25. The annual event was set up by the charity to mark the first anniversary of the official opening of their second hospice Charlton Farm, which is situated near Bristol.  The idea of the day is to pay just £1 to Wear Your Wellies to work or to school. All money raised will go towards the running of Children's Hospice South West's hospices Little Bridge House based in Barnstaple and Charlton Farm in Wraxall, near Bristol and also the Precious Lives Appeal to build a children's hospice in Cornwall.  Children's Hospice South West community fundraiser for West Devon, Judy Pride, said: 'This will be the first year that my area has taken part in Wear Your Wellies — it'll be the first year of many we hope.'  Children's Hospice South West is the only organisation in the South West of England providing hospice care for children with life-limiting conditions and also support for their families.  Life-limiting means that the child is unlikely to reach adulthood. There are more than 1,000 such children in the South West which means 1,000 different families struggling to deal with the unique challenges of coping with a child who has a life- limiting condition.  To download a Wear Your Wellies poster please visit http://www.chsw.org.uk">www.chsw.org.uk and click on the annual events page.  There are also some great tips for how to decorate your wellies and Children's Hospice South West is urging everyone to take a picture of your decorated wellies and send them to: Wear Your Wellies Photos, Children's Hospice South West, Little Bridge House, Redlands Road, Fremington, Barnstaple, North Devon, EX31 2PZ or email them to [email protected]">[email protected]
