THE Okehampton College show jumping teams are having the best run of successes they have had since they started.

With great strength and depth throughout the age groups they have a wealth of talent from which to draw, most of which is produced by the Mid Devon and Eggesford Pony Clubs.

At the end of September the college entered three teams in Shebbear's competition which was run in lovely weather and turned out to be a good natured, if hard fought, competition.

Out of 15 teams Okehampton filled the first three spots — a remarkable achievement.

Last weekend was the turn of the Web South West Devon and Cornwall competition held at the Grange, Northlew. This is a two-round competition where the Cornish schools compete on Saturday and the Devon Schools on Sunday, with the top six from each day meeting to fight it out in the final next Friday evening.

Out of 28 teams entered in the Devon round, Okehampton fielded four and of these three qualified for the final, getting first, fifth and sixth places..

They are now looking forward to the final on Friday evening.

Those who have represented the college so far are: Lydia Svensson, Charlie Rowe, Lucy Sizmur, Anthony Greening, Sally McIntyre, Ellen Bright, Scarlett Geering, Denni Colton, Rebecca Rowe, Jasmine Reddaway, Lottie Trerise, Sarah Gomersall, Rosa Matson, Portia Andrew, Laura Gomersall, William Leech and Abi Colton.
