SCOUTS from Okehampton welcomed 24 Icelandic scouts and their leaders to Devon recently, following the 21st World Scout Jamboree. It is tradition for home hospitality ? Ho Ho ? to be offered to scouts from around the world by local scouts either before or after the jamboree. Scouting families from around Okehampton shared three days with the Icelandic scouts, showing them the treasures of Devon and sharing in the life of typical Devonshire families. District Explorer Scout commissioner Paul Charlton said: ?We have all made some great friends from Iceland and can?t wait to meet them again next year when we visit Iceland.?
