PETER Young (left), churchwarden at St Eustachius Church in Tavistock, was presented with theatre tickets after stepping down from the post he has held for the last three years.

The Rev Michael Brierley, priest-in-charge, said: 'We'll enormously miss Peter's fabric expertise, his unflappable nature, and his marvellous sense of humour.  Happily, he's still going to manage the project to repaint the church's ceiling.' 

The new churchwarden is Cathy Sherlock.
