THE Dartmoor Pony Heritage Trust, created to preserve the Dartmoor pony on Dartmoor, is offering free guided walks on Bellever Forest, near Postbridge,

It is for groups of a minimum of six persons and is especially suited for schools. Sessions are led by an experienced and qualified guide leader, who can tailor the material to learners aged six to 80-plus years.

They are suitable for families, school groups, special interest groups, local history, conservation and community groups. Tough, waterproof outdoor clothing can be provided.

There will also be some special 'cream tea' Sunday walks, in conjunction with the Bellever Youth Hostel‚ dates to be confirmed.

The guided walks are funded by Natural England's higher level stewardship scheme and the payment made to the DPHT per walk, goes to the charity's work to preserve the environment at Bellever and to keep the true Dartmoor pony on Dartmoor.
