Becki Lumbis, education and community resource officer for the Tamar Valley AONB, who is supporting the volunteer-led scheme 'Walking for Health', said: 'The free walks are suitable for all, all we ask is that you have a good pair of walking shoes or boots, for your comfort.
'We are delighted to be able to offer a series of easy walks varying from 30 to 90-minute strolls.
'On each walk there will be two fully trained walk leaders, giving all the support and encouragement you'll need.'
According to the national Walking for Health scheme, in England, half of all adults are not active enough to benefit their health.
This means that they are at risk of developing serious illnesses such as diabetes, heart disease and cancer. But it doesn't have to be this way.
Walking for Health is England's largest network of health walk schemes, helping people across the country lead a more active lifestyle. They have done this with great success for over 12 years, improving the mental and physical well-being of thousands of people.
The weekly walks in the Tamar Valley will take place every Thursday, starting on April 2.
