WALKHAM Valley played their traditional end of season fixture against a President's X1 on Sunday.
Having lost the toss, Walkham were put into bat. After the statutory 30 overs, Walkham had ammassed a record total for the club of 202.
Berry R, Ralph, Belt and Kay all retired after making 25 not out with Long, Peers and Chandler also contributing with respectable scores. Smith and Leal both took two wickets and Hattersley and Knight one each for the President's X1,
Facing a large total, the President's X1 started well and were achieving the run rate required of seven an over until their opening batsmen were out to the bowling of Peers and Long.
The middle order of Smith R, (37) Smith A, (12) Knight (23 not out) and Hattersley(13) put up a brave fight but the tail end collapsed for a total of 153.
Eight Walkham bowlers took wickets with Morrison taking three. Berry J and Chandler were sharp in the field which helped considerably in the Walkham victory.
President Mike Dobsom was thanked for organising another excellent game and for umpiring for the club throughout the season.
