STOKE Climsland is once again bracing itself for a SCATS panto.
This year?s show, Sleeping Beauty, sees SCATS? usual array of local talent, young and old, acting out a traditional story of malice, evil, love and humour in the fictional settings of Pempwell Palace and Callington Castle.
Among the leading roles this year is Ali Aitchison as the hapless Prince Ferdinand, who suffers a cruel fate at the hands of the evil fairy Aconitum (Adele O?Shea and Shirley Cattell). As Prince Ferdinand takes up employment with the dastardly King Lucas (Tim Randell) he meets a host of characters who eagerly befriend him. The Court Jesters, played by Paul Fuller and Nigel Greenaway, and the King?s Pages ? Sarah Hernandez and Katie and Becci Merry.
The King?s Squire is played by Chris King who meets a truly grizzly fate in the King?s dungeon before, surprisingly, re-appearing unscathed in the next scene!
Pempwell Palace is home to Queen Chardonnay (Adrian Glassborow) and King Bacchus (John Prescott) with their beautiful daughter Princess Rosebud played by Jenny Cattell. Attempting in vain to keep watch over them are the fairies, Natalie King, Rosie Fuller and Anna Rose.
With lots of surprises in store plus plenty of music and laughter this year?s show looks set to be another success.
Performances are in Stoke Climsland Parish Hall on 5, 6, 7, 13, 14 February at 7.30pm with matinees at 2.30pm on both Saturdays, Tickets are on sale at Stoke and Luckett Post Offices.
