MORE than 2,500 households ? just over 10% of West Devon ? have still to return vital forms, which will update the borough council?s register of electors.

The council has sent out final reminders to those who have not replied, asking them to amend or confirm details about the occupants in their home and send forms back so that the information can be registered.

Already the council has sent out the original form and a further reminder to the households who have not sent back their replies.

It is crucial the households register. If you do not return the forms your name may be excluded from the electoral register and you may lose your right to vote. You will also experience difficulties from private companies if you apply for credit in the future.

All electors have the opportunity, while filling in the form, to have their names excluded from the public version of the register, as it will be available for anyone to buy.

The full version of the register cannot be sold to any one person or organisation with the exception of registered credit reference agencies.

The deadline is Tuesday November 25 and the register will be published on Monday December 1. If you have not received a registration form then telephone the electoral registration officer on 01822 813600.
