A VIRTUOSO pianist and a brand new piano will create a memorable opening recital for Kelly College Concert Society's new season next Wednesday September 26.
Mark Bebbington has been described as stunningly gifted and has played with many leading orchestras here and abroad and with conductors such as Solti and del Mar.
He has appeared on BBC TV and radio. His South Bank recitals have been critically acclaimed.
Mark's programme will include three Scarlatti sonatas and Haydn's C major Sonata.
He will also play Franck's Prelude, Chorale and Fugue and the Liszt/Verdi 'Rigoletto' Paraphrase de Concert.
The concert begins at 7.45pm in the Melvin Hall, Kelly College, Tavistock. Tickets are £8, (£6 concessions) at the door.
Alternatively, a season ticket for all six concerts in the new series costs £25 (£20 concessions).
Accompanied under 18-year-olds are admitted free.
Subsequent dates are October 10: violin and piano recital by Peter Fisher and Michael Dussek; November 7: a concert sponsored by the Countess of Munster Trust with Sarah Field, saxophone, and Simon Lepper, piano; January 16 2002: the Hill/Wiltschinsky Guitar Duo; February 20: Tubalate Brass quartet and March 13: the Bochmann String Quartet.
